The SHORTSTOPP® II Plugging system is more dependable, easier to use and more cost effective than any other system on the market for plugging low pressure gas distribution lines. Covering pipe sizes 1 1/4" - 12" (32mm - 304mm), the system is rated at 150 psi (11 bar).
A polyethylene adapter kit permits temporary plugging of 4" and 6" (100mm and 150mm) PE distribution mains through TDW electrofusion fittings or 8" PE pipe through TDW's sidewall fusion fitting in lines pressured to 100 psi (7 bar).
Use of a folding plugging head in 4", 6", 8", 10" and 12" (100mm, 150mm, 200mm, 250mm and 300mm) lines permits plugging a line through a reduced-branch fitting, saving time and money. Shown is the 4" (100mm) folding head plugger.
Innovations in the SHORTSTOPP II System include the following:
- A control bar clamp keeps the control bar in the desired position and prevents it from turning. This secures the plugging head and maintains a tight seal. It is also used to keep the plugging head in the retracted position during machine installation.
- The control bar jack provides extra mechanical advantage against line pressure when lowering the plugging head or completion plug.
- A pivot ball gland reduces wear on the housing and control bar, while maintaining a dependable gland seal and reducing maintenance costs.
- A control bar latch keeps the control bar locked while the plugging head is in the locked position.
The SHORTSTOPP II System includes control bars, housings, completion plug holders, sealing elements, and SHORTCUTT® or SHORTSTOPP® Valves. Also available with the SHORTSTOPP II System are carrying cases for sizes 1-1/4-, 1-1/2-, 2-, 3-, and 3x4-inch plugging machines.
SHORTSTOPP® II Carrying Case is available.
