The P 2000 system is a manually operated drilling and plugging system used to tap and plug 110 -200 mm (4" to 8") polyethylene piping. The tapping unit has two speeds: one for lowering the cutter to the pipe, and a slower speed for cutting. The plugging system uses an expandable plugging head, that allows by-pass capability either through the housing or through the bottom-out fitting. The system, which uses Piedfort designed electrofusion fittings, is approved for use on the Gaz de France system.
