Search Print Page MAB System V Request-A-Quote The MAB System is designed to stop flow in a gas distribution line by inserting a gas bag into the line through a tapped hole, then inflating it until the bag seals against the pipe wall, stopping flow. It is designed for use in 80-400 mm at a maximum of 1 bar (depending on pipe size). Manufactured in T.D. Williamson France S.A., the system will work in bitumen coated sheet metal pipe, cast iron, steel and polyethylene pipe. The system consists of a universal valve (80-400 mm), drilling device, and gasbag setting machine, with introducing housings to prevent any uncontrolled gas escape. The drilling device can be operated manually or with the use of an air motor. The Universal Valve: It is a disc valve which opens with a 1-1/2 turn from "closed" to "open" position Three valve-to-fitting adapters make the same valve suitable for all sizes of pipe from 80 mm to 400 mm. The outlet of the valve is "quick coupling" type for saving time when changing from one machine to another during the operation. For safety purposes, a viewing window allows checking of the valve. The machine can be operated either manually or with an air motor. The machine is manual feed. A dual-tube gasbag machine for the introduction of two inflatable gasbags through a single hole for pipe sizes DN 150 to DN 250 (steel, cast or ductile iron). A single-tube machine for the introduction of one inflatable gasbag for pipe sizes DN 300 to DN 400 (steel, cast or ductile iron). A single-tube machine for polyethylene DN 160 to 315. All machines are provided with "Quick Coupling" connections. Note: At working pressure under 50 mbar, a non rigid transparent housing could be used instead of the above machines for pipe sizes DN 80 to DN 150 -- all pipe materials. The Inflatable Gasbags: Four sizes of multi-diameter, heavy-duty gasbags cover all pipe diameters from DN 80 to DN 400: 80-125 mm 140-210 mm 190-270 mm 300-400 mm The Completion Machine: The Completion Machine is needed for plug setting. It consists of a transparent, rigid housing and a control bar with a plug holder. It can also be used for cleaning the pipe before introducing the gasbags.
