Basic Function: 

Provides Project Management leadership to Pipeline Services in performing Pipeline Maintenance Projects from conception to end of construction.

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Applies sound project definition, organization and management skills to significant Pipeline Maintenance Projects.
  • Ensures the customer and TDW’s project objectives are accomplished satisfactorily, on time, within budget, and in accordance with the contractual agreement.
  • Develops preliminary scope of work and execution plan for client bid package.  Assists in the preparation of the bid package and contract, ensuring most favorable outcome of bid process for TDWS.
  • Develops finalized scope, execution plan, budget and schedule upon successful bidding process.  Coordinates project staffing with Field Operations Manager.  Completes and presents regularly scheduled status reports to customer and TDW when necessary.  Makes necessary adjustments to staffing and schedule to ensure timely completion of project within budget parameters to meet desired profit and schedule objectives.
  • Manages the design, procurement and manufacturing phases of the project.  When necessary, recruits, qualifies and monitors sub contractors, ensuring sub-contractors meet established Quality standards and minimum qualifications.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • BS degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum or Civil Engineering and 10 years construction management experience with transmission pipelines and/or oil and gas gathering pipelines.
  • Five years’ experience as project manager or project engineer.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; must be able to deliver project reports to senior management.
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Word at the Basic level, and Microsoft Excel at the Intermediate level.  Experience with project scheduling and cost estimating software and reference material is a plus.
  • Professional registration desirable.
