Global Data Analyst Specialist - Salt Lake City, Utah


TDW MAGIPIE® is a company specializing in Magnetic Pipeline Inspection Systems for the Petroleum industry. We are experiencing growth in both our domestic and global operations. As a growing company TDW MAGPIE is seeking energetic and experienced professionals for the following position:

BASIC FUNCTION:

Develops a training program for newly-hired and existing Data Analysts.   Maintains a database of training activities and certification achievements of each employee.  Provides Level II support for regions without qualified analysts. Audits regional offices and provide feedback to regional managers concerning adherence to procedures and practices.

Accountabilities:

  • Develops a training program for newly hired Data Analysts, ensuring Analysts attain proficiency to meet certification guidelines in a timely manner.  Revises and updates training material as necessary to address current applications.  Administers tests to qualified analysts and maintains a database of complete, accurate and current training records for each employee.
  • Stays abreast of changes in software technology so that training materials are updated and employees are proficient in the use and interpretation at all times.  Audits and issues approval or corrective action of adherence to defined procedures, inspection results and quality standards.
  • Provide Level II support to offices without Level II proficiency.  Perform QC checks and process audits if a regional office does not have the certification or proficiency to insure quality standards. Provide feedback to regional analyst concerning inspection results.
  • Works with engineering and third-party vendors to enhance and improve the functionality and performance of Pigtrap and DataOne.  Provide requirements and feedback on functionality of existing versions of Pigtrap and DataOne.  Assists with prioritizing development levels of future software revisions.
  • Determine the needs of regional office to effectively, securely and reliably transfer and share ILI data and analysis information between offices.  Work with IT and engineering to implement and maintain data integrity in regional office.
  • Conducts periodic audits of regional offices to determine conformance to applied procedure and quality standards in analysis process and reporting practices.  Provides approval or corrective action to regional managers concerning findings in regional offices.
  • Determine the look and feel of the final report to customer based on regulations and standards required by customer contract for each regional office.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Associate degree or the equivalent job experience in computer operations or equivalent experience.  Good basic math skills, including algebra.
  • Must be proficient in the use of IBM-compatible PCs, with knowledge of MS-DOS, Microsoft Word and Excel at the Intermediate level. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with pipeline or well-logging industry is desired.
