Equipment Coordinator - Edmonton, Canada


TDW MAGIPIE® is a company specializing in Magnetic Pipeline Inspection Systems for the Petroleum industry. We are experiencing growth in both our domestic and global operations. As a growing company TDW MAGPIE is seeking energetic and experienced professionals for the following position:

BASIC FUNCTION:

Responsible for repairs, modifications, testing, assembly and shipment of Magpie ILI inspection equipment.  Performs all activities in accordance with established quality control procedures.

ABILITIES

  • Assembles necessary equipment in accordance with the information on the job order and inspection questionnaires.
  • Maintains equipment records, indicating status and location of equipment and, in conjunction with Field Services Supervisor, maintains awareness of job schedule.  Provides feedback to manager regarding condition of equipment and service level.
  • Modifies standard equipment to ensure proper operation in unique pipeline applications.  Interacts with Engineering and stays current on design changes. Provides feedback to engineering when field changes are made.
  • Arranges for shipment of equipment if Magpie/TDW transportation is not being used, to guarantee safe and timely arrival of equipment to the job site.
  • Maintains a history of field use, damages, repairs and periodic maintenance.  Conducts training of technicians on new equipment and holds regular meetings to ensure all technicians are informed of current procedures and policies.
  • Maintains local Service Center inventory records on all expendable stock.  Works with Central Services Logistics SLC to ensure stock levels of equipment are adequate.  Works with established vendors to determine most cost effective products are provided.
  • Performs field service work when necessary.  Assists in developing and improving the procedures and equipment at Magpie/TDW.
  • Maintains and oversees the work area, ensuring area is clean and orderly, in accordance with Magpie/TDW safety standards.

REQUIRMENTS

  • Associates degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Inventory Control preferred.
  • Two to five years experience with repair and maintenance of Magpie/TDW ILI Inspection equipment or other related inline inspection equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of personal computers, electronic components, and proprietary software used in operation of the Magpie/TDW ILI Inspection equipment.  Ability to use or learn basic software.
  • Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings of mechanical and electrical components and systems.
  • Must be able to use all basic shop equipment both hand and power that is in the Magpie/TSW shop.
  • Requires moderate to heavy lifting, 50 to 75 pounds.
  • Able to perform basic rigging for lifting with various lifting apparatus.
