Electrical Engineer - Salt Lake City, Utah


TDW MAGIPIE® is a TDW company specializing in Magnetic Pipeline Inspection Systems for the Petroleum industry. We are experiencing growth in both our domestic and global operations. As a growing company TDW, MAGPIE is seeking energetic and experienced professionals for the following position:

BASIC FUNCTION:

Designs, modifies, develops, tests, and implements hardware electronic circuits.  Designs and maintains printed circuit boards.  Supports other engineers with circuit design and trouble shooting.  We are looking for both junior-level and senior-level Engineers.  Senior level Engineers will also gain the opportunity to manage projects and provide guidance in the planning and conceptual design of embedded projects with broad latitude in implementing solutions.

Accountabilities:

  • Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design electronic circuits and printed circuit boards.
  • Designs or aids in the design of electronic and micro-processor based circuits.
  • Maintains and debugs existing electronic circuits.
  • Provides technical support to Production and Field Services staff.
  • Plans and tracks project progress using project software.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field with 2-10+ years relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of commonly-used Hardware/Electrical Engineering concepts, practices, and procedures, including experience with designing electronic circuits and real time embedded systems, understanding of engineering development cycles, and the creation and maintenance for revision specifications.  Familiar with assembly and embedded ‘C’ programming.
  • Extensive experience with microprocessor architecture and design and electronic circuit design.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers; Microsoft Word and Excel software skill at the Intermediate Level.
  • Some travel within and outside of the United States may be required.
